  1. Access the Iowa board of nursing portal: Nurses must log into their account on the Board's website. 
  2. Complete the renewal application: Update personal and professional information, attest to the completion of the required CE hours, including any mandatory abuse training, and respond to questions about any disciplinary actions or convictions since the last renewal. 
  3. Pay the renewal fee: The renewal fee for RNs in Iowa is $99. 

It is crucial for nurses to keep documentation of all completed CE activities for at least four years, as they may be audited by the Board and asked to provide evidence of their CE. 

Timelines and important dates
